Magic Reindeer Food
Magic reindeer food supplies/ ingredients:
- Printable magic reindeer food poem and signs
- 3 bowls
- Oats
- Cake sprinkles
- Cellophane cone bags
- Googly eyes
- A red pom pom or twisted red pipe cleaner for a nose
- A gold or brown pipe cleaner for antlers
How to make magic reindeer food
Print out all the magic reindeer food signs and poem using the link at the bottom of the page. If you want to do this activity with a larger group of children or you want the signs to last year after year I would recommend laminating the printables.
To set up the magic reindeer food bar fill 3 bowls with oats and cake sprinkles.
It is recommended that you don't use glitter as it is bad for wildlife who might eat it. Instead of sprinkles you could include a variety of different oats or seeds that are safe for wildlife. Here are some good ideas of wildlife friendly reindeer food ingredients
Put one sign next to each of the bowls. We found some star shaped bowls which I think makes our reindeer food bar look extra magical!
Take a cellophane bag and fill it with reindeer food. Add a small amount of each of the magic reindeer food ingredients into your bag.
First add a scoop of oats.
After that add a dash of love.
Then add a sprinkle of magic.
Finally the best part, close your eyes and make a wish.
Tie the cellophane bag up and turn it into a reindeer by twisting a pipe cleaner around the top of the bag as antlers and adding eyes and a nose. Complete your magic reindeer food by adding our printable magic reindeer food poem label.
Harry (age 4) loved making his reindeer food and we are looking forward to sprinkling it outside on Christmas eve.
