Get outside with the kids this Autumn and collect some interesting leaves to turn into Monster leaf puppets. Making and playing with puppets is always popular with young children. Today we are sharing our monster leaf puppets which we made after reading 'Go Away Big Green Monster' by Ed Emberley. This is a perfect book related craft for toddlers and preschoolers.
We love making puppets. Take a look at our superhero puppets, goldilocks and the three bear puppets and our bird puppet.
Todays craft was based on the story 'Go Away Big Green Monster' by Ed Emberley.

Leaf Monster Puppet Craft
After reading the story we went on an Autumn walk to collect some leaves that we thought would make good monsters. We brought our collection of leaves inside and started to decorate them.
We used chalk pens to add some colour to the leaves and then we put them through a laminator.
We cut the laminated leaves out, taped a craft stick to the back of each leaf and added details to turn the leaves into monsters. We used lots of googly eyes, feathers and sequins to create our monsters.
We left our monster leaf puppets to dry and then used them to do some puppet shows for each other.
We had fun describing our monsters and telling them to go away like in the story.
'Go Away Big Green Monster' by Ed Emberley is this weeks book for the virtual book club. We had lots of fun with this book. Check out the other monster activities shared below.
