Get babies and toddlers involved in celebrations like bonfire night and New Years Eve by making them a firework sensory bottle. Sensory bottles are easy to make by recycling plastic bottles and adding small objects from around the house.

We had lots of sparkly things left after making our firework playdough so we used them to make a firework sensory bottle for baby Daisy (who is nearly 3 months old).  Harry was really keen to make this toy for Daisy and was thrilled that she smiled when he gave her the bottle.

You will need:

  • plastic bottle
  • Lots of sparkly things (we used sequins, glitter, pipe cleaners, pom poms and tinsel.

Harry took a lot of care placing the things in one by one.

Add some glitter.

Then fill the bottle with water and put the lid on.  We glued the lid on using a glue gun. If you add a little bit of clear oil it helps the objects to float around the bottle more easily.

So far Daisy has enjoyed eating her bottle and watching Harry shake it about for her.
