How to make bead candy cane ornaments
STEP 1: Prepare supplies
Before beginning to make your candy cane ornaments help your toddler to organise the pony beads into coloured sets. This will help when it comes to the threading, but it is also a great activity for toddlers working on colour recognition and sorting skills.
STEP 2: Thread the pony beads
Now the beads are sorted by colour it is time to thread them onto a pipe cleaner. Fold one end of the pipe cleaner over slightly so the beads stay on and then start threading. Continue threading beads until the pipe cleaner is full alternating between red and white beads.
STEP 3: Complete candy cane ornaments
They are now ready to be hung on the Christmas tree!
Even our elf on the shelf Elfie enjoyed making them!
We hope that you have as much fun making candy cane ornaments as we did. They are the perfect Christmas craft for toddlers.
