Spiders Web Name Hunt
I filled a tub up with stretchy spiders webs and small toy spiders. I pulled the webs apart a bit to make the tub look fuller and I hid the spiders in the web.
I drew some little spiders onto card and added the letters of Harrys name to them. Then I hid them amongst the toy spiders and web.
I left a pumpkin scoop inside the tub for Harry to use to help him hunt if he wanted to.
He had a great time hunting for the letters. I had written his name on a piece of paper for him so he could match the letters he found to his name.
Once Harry had found all the letters and put them in order we hid them again and he tried to see how quickly he could find them all again.
Harry then asked me to write his name on ghosts and pumpkins for him to find.
I kept this game simple as Harry is only just 3 and is still at the stage where he is learning his name and the sounds that different letters make. Below are some other games which could be played in the spiders web:
- Make and hide the letters needed for other peoples names or new words
- Hide all the letters of the alphabet so that once found they can be put together to make new words
- Hide uppercase and lowercase letters to hunt for and match them together
