Help the kids make their own superhero coaster gift for dad! What a great Father's Day craft idea for kids to let dad know he is their favourite superhero. Toddlers and preschoolers will love making superhero handprints and turning them into a useful handmade gift for dad.
We made a spiderman handprint, hulk handprint, batman handprint and TMNT handprint, but this craft would work well for any superhero your child chooses. We even have a free printable superhero gift tag that can be added to this fun Fathers Day gift idea saying 'You are my favourite superhero'.

Superhero Handprints
Making the superhero handprints is really easy if you have an eager toddler or preschooler. Harry (aged 2) couldnt wait for us to turn his handprints into his favourite superheroes. I have added images of the superhero handprints we made below, but for more details on how to make each of the handprints click on the images or links.
I would recommend making the handprints on cardstock over paper so you get a clearer print and you don't need to worry about the paper wrinkling. When making the handprints with your toddler or preschooler try to encourage them to open their fingers slightly and to press their hand firmly onto the cardstock.

How to make handmade handprint coasters
You can either scan your artwork or we have found just taking a photo works perfectly well. We made our coasters using photos of the handprint art that I had taken on my iphone.
Once we had recieved our handmade handprint coasters we prepared to give them to dad as a Father's Day gift. To make the superhero coasters extra special we tied them together with a piece of string and added a gift tag that said 'Daddy, you are my favourite superhero.'
Dad will enjoy looking at the superhero handprints every time he has a cup of tea! I love this Father's Day gift idea as it is easy enough for children of all ages to make and it is a useful gift that dad will enjoy using. I also LOVE handprint art!
