As well as the HUGE list of fun Christmas activities for kids included in this Christmas activity countdown, we have some printable advent calendar activity ideas that you might like to print out to give to your child over the festive period. You could add one to their advent calendar each day!
If you are looking for more ways to countdown to Christmas we also have a fun Santa Countdown where you add a cotton ball to Santa's beard each day ending up with a full beard on Christmas Eve. You could also make a DIY advent calendar and add little treats inside for your child to find each day on the countdown to Christmas.

1st December- Countdown to Christmas with a Christmas book advent calendar. Wrap up 24 books and let your child un wrap one each day as their bedtime story. The books don't need to be new, but if they are Christmas themed it will add to the excitement. Alternatively make your own advent calendar by colouring in this FREE printable advent calendar by Hattifant.
2nd December- Get the family together and have fun decorating the Christmas tree. Stick on some music, put on some silly Christmas hats and get the kids involved, the Christmas tree might not end up looking perfect, but precious memories are being made. Why not introduce a new tradition like The Kindness Elves.

4th December- Make Christmas cards for family and friends. Here are a few simple ideas to try. For full instructions click on the image below.
5th December- Help your child to use this FREE printable Santa letter to write a letter to Santa. UK people if you let your little one post their letter to Santa before the 6th December using the address in this link you will get a reply from Santa! 6th December- Make Christmas handprint and footprint keepsakes. Using a easy salt dough recipe you can make Christmas keepsakes that will last forever! Check out all our salt dough ornaments or click here to see the homemade Christmas keepsakes pictured below.
7th December- Make a Christmas wreath. Find a few ideas suitable for adults and kids on our Christmas wreath pinterest board. We love this fun handprint wreath and poem and we had fun making our DIY Christmas wreath.

9th December- Track Santa to see where in the world he is. Keep checking back...especially on Christmas Eve when you can see him getting closer and closer!

15th December- Make a gingerbread house. We usually buy a gingerbread house kit, but I LOVE these easy mini gingerbread houses by Red Ted Art.

18th December- Have fun making and playing with Christmas spoon puppets
19th December- Spend time together as a family playing some simple Christmas games like this printable Christmas version of the game would you rather by Kitchen Counter Chronicles.
20th December- Have a bit of quiet time with these FREE Christmas colourings or colour your own Christmas cards.
22nd December- Make some reindeer food ready to sprinkle on your lawn on Christmas eve. Just mix oats and cake sprinkles. You could even set up a magic reindeer food station to make it extra magical!
23rd December- Snuggle up under a blanket and watch a Christmas movie. 'Elf' is always the favourite in our house!
Christmas eve is such an exciting evening, I think I actually prefer it to Christmas day! Sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn to guide Santa to your house. Leave Santa a tasty treat (you could even make a special plate for Santa). Hang up your stockings and get the kids into their Christmas pyjamas. Once the kids are in bed its always fun to sprinkle a bit of fake snow by the door before relaxing with a festive glass of mulled wine.
