This month we are hosting an 'Exploring Famous Artists' series. Have fun checking out some of the other activities inspired by famous artists.
Claude Monet is famous for his collection of paintings of water lilies. His paintings can sometimes look quite abstract.
Claude Monet inspired Water Lilies Art for Kids
To make a piece of Monet inspired artwork for kids you will need:
- Finger paints (green and blue)
- Paper plate
- Cupcake liners (green, white and pink)
How we created our Monet inspired Water Lilies painting
Daisy (21 months) loved getting messy as she painted a paper plate using blue and green finger paints.
While she was busy painting I made the lily pads. I made our lily pads from cupcake liners. I cut a triangle out of green cupcake liners to make them look like lily pads.
I helped Daisy glue the lily pads to the paper plate pond and then we added some white and pink lilies. To make the Lilies I cut off the outer edge of the pink and white cupcake liners and then snipped towards the middle to create petals. I scrunched them up a bit and Daisy helped to stick them down.
Our water lily painting was quick and easy to make but quite effective I think!
