Pour painting is such a fun and easy art idea for kids. Rainbow coloured flower pots can be created really easily using this fun painting technique. These DIY flower pots make great little gifts and would be perfect for Mothers Day as well as teacher gifts. This colourful kids craft is great for this time of year as we head towards Spring.

Pour Painting flower pot
This painting technique really is loads of fun and so simple too! Begin by covering up the hole in the terracotta pots with masking tape, (we put the tape inside the pots). Place the pots upside down onto an old cooling rack and then simply start pouring paint onto the pots.
Take one colour paint at a time and squeeze the paint over the bottom of the pot. Keep building up the colours until you are happy with your design. Harry (aged 4) totally loved watching the paints pour down the pot and mix together. We added far more paint than was needed as he was enjoying it so much!
Once you are happy with your pots leave them to dry. Depending on the amount of paint you have used this might day several days!
Add a plant to your flower pot.
Louise I love this so much! very effective x
