Easy Heart Bag Craft

Hearts, pink and sparkle, what could be better! Help the kids make their own easy heart bag craft to celebrate Valentines Day.   These simple DIY bags would be perfect to give to family and friends as Valentines treat bags. Decorate them with as much sparkle as you can or keen them plain, it's totally up to you! This activity is great as it can be adapted for any age from toddlers and preschoolers upwards.

These easy heart bags would be great made into treat bags filled with sweets or little toys to give to classmates on Valentines Day. You could even make your own DIY crayons or salt dough magnets to put inside them. They would also be lovely for Mother's day, perhaps with a special love note to mom inside or perhaps a special keepsake poem.

You will need:

• Craft Foam (cut into heart shapes)
• Small hearts to decorate (foam, gems and stickers)
• Pipe Cleaners
• Stapler
• Bostik Glu Dots 

Easy Heart Bag Craft

Begin by taking the two foam hearts and place one on top of the other. Staple around the edge of the heart shapes to connect them together, leaving the top of the heart open. 

Make handles for the bag from pipe cleaners. You will need one pipe cleaner for each handle.  Push each end of the pipe cleaners through the foam and secure the pipe cleaners in place by twisting them back on themselves. 

Decorate the bag by sticking on foam hearts, gems and stickers.  Glu dots work really well for sticking on the decorations without any mess and they hold the hearts on securely. 

You can decorate your bag any way you wish, keep it pink and sparkly like we did or add your own personal touch.  Toddlers and preschoolers would love adding lots of little stickers, gems and foam shapes to decorate their own bag. Switch the colours and shapes up a bit and you could make a bag to fit in with any interests or themes. 

Fill your bag with little treats and give to someone special.
