After a pregnancy full of sickness and SPD I couldn't wait for delivery day to arrive (I don't do pregnancy well!) A week over due and a few hours after having a sweep I went into labour. Leaving Harry and Daisy with Grandma we headed to our local maternity hospital and an hour later Oliver was born.
It took us a week to decide on a name for Oliver and we changed our minds several times, but I think his chosen name really suits him.
We fell in love with Oliver as soon as we saw him and enjoyed our newborn cuddles through the exhaustion. At 9.6 lbs he was a big baby, but he seemed so tiny to us. You forget how small newborn babies are!
We are so proud of our lovely little boy. So far he is such a chilled baby, lets hope it stays that way! I love the way he tucks his little legs up, the way he snuggles into us and moves himself around to get cosy and the way he looks at us.
Oliver seems so strong and alert already. He is loving looking around him and taking it all in. We have spotted a few smiles already too (yes it might be wind, but we like to think not!)
We are tired, but very happy parents!
And here are the proud grandparents.

A few hours later we headed home to introduce Oliver to Harry and Daisy. The children were still in bed when we arrived home so they had a lovely surprise when they woke up in the morning, (although I think they thought the surprise we told them was downstairs was going to be a toy and not a baby!)
Harry and Daisy are so in love with their little brother already and they think he is so cute. They couldn't wait to hold him and play with him. Harry and Daisy are really close, a real double act, so we hope Oliver will be able to join them before long.

Wow, such a beautiful family. Oliver was a big baby, how are you feeling? Has it all sunk in yet? Now you need to change your intro to mum of three, not two. Just one more thing to add to the never ending list, LOL. Take a deep breath, and don't forget to take care of your own needs, including some quiet time by yourself. I know that seems like it would be hard to do, but it is one of the "gotta do" that all us mums forget. Blessings To You And Yours, from a snowy Port Huron, Michigan
