Ingredients for your graham cracker apple snacks:
- Graham crackers
- Red candy melts
- Light green candy melts
- Pretzel twists
Directions to make your graham cracker apple snacks:
STEP 1: Gather your ingredients
Before you get started, gather up all your ingredients because - TRUST ME - it's so much easier than running around looking for things as you go.
STEP 2: Prepare red candies
Once you have your ingredients, it's time to prepare your red candies! But first - lay out a piece of parchment paper and break your graham crackers in half into squares and lay them all out.
In a small microwave bowl, heat 2 cups of red candy melts for about 3-4 minutes, making sure to stir about every 30 seconds or so. Then, fill a pastry bag with the melted candies and cut off the tip of the end. Optionally, you can add a piping decorating tip to the end.
STEP 3: Spread onto graham crackers
Next, use the filled pastry bag to frost the graham crackers with the melted red candies. These are going to resemble the main parts of your apple. Kids will love helping with this part!
STEP 4: Add details to your graham cracker apple snacks
Once your graham crackers are frosted, it's time to add all the remaining decorating! Even really young toddlers and preschoolers will love to help add the pretzels and candy melts.
First, break the pretzel from the side and use it as a stem by placing it near the top of the graham cracker as shown below. Then, break your green candy melts in half and smooth out any rough edges before placing it next to the pretzel stem on your apple snack to create a leaf.
That's it! Time to enjoy your apple themed fun snacks for kids.
