- Snack sized ziplock bags
- Super glue (or Halloween washi tape)
- Plastic spiders
- Hair gel
- Hand soap
Directions to make your spider sensory bags:
STEP 1: Gather your sensory bag supplies
First things first - gather up all your supplies for these fun sensory bags for babies! This makes it so much easier when it comes time to make these spider sensory bags as they can be a little fiddly.
STEP 2: Prepare your sensory bags
Now that you have all your supplies, it's time to prepare your sensory bags! Fill each one with hair gel and hand soap. We chose to alternate between the two, but you can use both in each one if you'd like.
STEP 3: Fill the sensory bags with spiders
Once you've filled the sensory bags, have your toddlers help you fill them with a handful of spiders. You could even sort them by colour and fill each one according to colour for an extra learning exercise.
STEP 4: Close and glue the sensory bags shut
Now it's time to close them shut! Make sure they're extra tight and then use the super glue to glue them so they don't accidentally pop open. (or worse, your toddler opens them and makes a big mess!)
You can also get some fun festive washi tape to use instead of super glue. How fun would these Halloween washi tapes be?!
STEP 5: Have fun and play with spider sensory bag!
Once the glue has dried, let your babies and toddlers have fun with these fun spider sensory bags!
These fun sensory bags make such a fun Halloween activity for toddlers and babies! Between the cool spiders and the squishy feeling created by the hair gel in the sensory bags - young children are sure to have lots of fun!
These spider sensory bags for babies and toddlers will be a huge hit this Halloween. For more sensory bag ideas take a look at our laminated sensory bag collection.
