We love going to McDonald's as a treat so we were really excited about trying the new vegetarian options. McDonald’s is always working to improve their menu and that’s why they have introduced the first ever Veggie Happy Meal option as well as a new Spicy Veggie Wrap for adults.
The Veggie Wrap from the Vegetarian Happy Meal is made with a Red Pesto veggie goujon, shredded lettuce and tomato ketchup in a small toasted tortilla wrap and I am reliably informed by Harry (aged 7) that it is YUMMY! In his words, 'It was the most delicious thing ever!' He even went as far as saying that he will be having it every time we go to McDonald’s! (We will see about that though as he does love his chicken nuggets!)
The NEW Spicy Veggie Wrap for adults from the main menu is made with two Red Pepper and Pesto Goujons, a generous dressing of Spicy Relish with Tomato, Lettuce and Red Onion all wrapped in a soft, toasted tortilla. I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food so I didn't try the Spicy Veggie Wrap, but my husband who loves spicy food described it as having a mild spicy taste with plenty of flavour!
The fact that these veggie options have gone down well should come as no surprise as real families with real kids were involved in helping to create this new menu choice. The flavour of the vegetarian Happy Meal wrap was chosen following an exclusive BritMums tasting session, where parenting bloggers and their children helped taste and select the final Happy Meal wrap flavour.
I love that children who follow a vegetarian diet can now enjoy a Happy Meal alongside their friends or family. We aren't vegetarians, but found these new veggie options delicious. Having a Legendary Pokémon Happy Meal was the icing on the cake for Harry who loved the Pokémon cards and toy that came with his Happy Meal almost as much as the food!
