We have a really easy Easter egg craft to share with you today that little children will LOVE! This Easter craft for toddlers and preschoolers has been made using a really fun process art - paper towel painting. Kids will love watching paint spread across their paper towel as they try out this fun painting technique. Paper Towel Painting - Easter Egg Craft (egg template included)

Easter egg craft supplies

• paper towel
• liquid watercolours
• paintbrush
• coloured cardstock
• scissors
• glue
• printabel Easter egg template

Paper Towel Painting 

STEP 1: Get your supplies ready

Before you get started making your paper towel art you need to get all your supplies ready. Choose a few colours that compliment each other and prepare your liquid watercolours. Place an old piece of cardstock across the area you will be working on to absorb any excess watercolour paint that may soak through your paper towels.

STEP 2: Paint on paper towels

Now for the fun part! Invite your toddler or preschooler to come and paint their paper towel. They will love experimenting to see how the watercolour paint travels and spreads as they dab it onto the paper towels.

Experiment with different colours and patterns and then leave your paper towel art to dry. 

Easter Egg Craft

Now it's time to turn your paper towel painting into an Easter egg craft. 

STEP 1: Prepare Easter Egg Template

Print the egg template available at the bottom of the page and cut it out.

STEP 2: Cut out paper towel painting

Use the smaller egg template to cut out your paper towel art.

STEP 3: Glue to cardstock

Use the larger egg template to cut out a coloured piece of cardstock. Glue your paper towel painting to the cardstock egg shape.

Your Easter egg craft is complete! This paper towel Easter egg craft would look beautiful glued to the front of an Easter card. Alternatively why not leave your painted Easter eggs as they are and give them to loved ones with a special Easter message written on the back.?

If you make several painted Easter eggs you could string them up to make a colourful Easter garland.
