Supplies needed for your handmade Mother's Day Card

• Printer paper - white
• Cardstock - white
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Coloured pencils
• Fake flowers - light pink, blue, and green
• Sequins - yellow

Directions to make your handmade Mother's Day Card

STEP 1: Gather your supplies

Before you get started, gather up all your supplies. This makes it much easier when working with young children! You will need to print out your unicorn Mother's Day card template using the link at the bottom of the page.

STEP 2: Prepare the unicorn

Start by selecting a unicorn face and have your toddler or preschool colour it in with coloured pencils. If multiple children are involved, you can select different faces. This works especially great with siblings!

Next, glue the centre pink flower to the top of the unicorn and add a sequin. Then add the remaining flowers to the sides of the pink flower and add sequins to them as well. Set aside.

STEP 3: Prepare the greeting

Once you've done that, help your toddler or preschooler select a greeting to go with their handmade Mother's Day card. Cut it out as shown below.

Then, glue it to purple construction paper and trim the paper around the edges, leaving a little bit for a nice look.

STEP 4: Assemble the unicorn and greeting

Now, flip the greeting and glue the unicorn face to the bottom of the purple paper. Fold it over so you only see the unicorn. 

Then, colour the triangle unicorn horn and cut it out. Glue it to the back of the purple paper.

STEP 5: Finalize your handmade Mother's Day card

We're almost done! Grab the template with the MOM lettering and print it out on cardstock. Fold it along the top of the lettering. Trim around the edges, making sure to leave the folded edges intact.

Help your toddler or preschooler colour and decorate the two Ms as they desire.

Lastly, glue the unicorn to the centre where the letter O would go and you're done!
