How to set up the shark counting mats
This counting activity is easy to set up. Download and print out the feed the shark counting game in colour or black and white. Then cut out the number cards and cards with fish on them.
We would recommend laminating the pieces to make them last.
How to use the shark counting mats
Place the shark mat in front of your child and then place one of the number cards onto the square in the top right hand corner of the shark mat.
Ask your child to read the number and then count out the correct number of fish to feed to the shark.
Alternative ways to use the shark counting mats
Instead of using the fish cards you could make playdough fish or use small toy fish.
Another idea is to stick the shark mat onto a box and cut out the sharks mouth so that children could post the correct number of fish into the sharks mouth as they 'feed' him.
