How to play the apple theme counting game
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
First things first - grab your supplies to get ready to play! Thankfully this activity doesn't require much so it's very easy to set up.
STEP 2: Prepare the activity
To get started grab some brown or grey playdough. If you don't have any try mixing an equal ratio of blue and orange playdough together. If it looks too grey, add just a pinch of yellow.
Roll the playdough into a long rope shape to form your tree truck.
Have your preschooler tear off some green Play-Doh and flatten them out to form the leaves of the tree. Then, encourage them to place the leaves on the tree wherever they'd like.
Then, have your preschooler roll small balls of yellow, red, and green coloured play-doh.
STEP 3: It's time to play!
Next, give your preschooler a colour blocked dice and a standard dice and then have them roll both of the dice.
Encourage them to count the number on the dice and say the colour the other dice landed on out loud.
Then, have them count out however many of the colour they landed on and place them on the tree.
Repeat this process as desired. You can even switch things up by taking turns, seeing who can get more on the tree, etc. See what fun things you can come up with!
We hope you and your preschooler enjoy playing this apple theme counting activity! This apple activity for preschoolers is a great way to help preschoolers learn all about counting.
