The idea of the four gift rule is that parents buy just four presents for their child:

- Something to wear
- Something to read
This present buying rule is great if you are on a budget or if you would prefer to spend your money on less, better quality items. It is much easier to think of fabulous, original gift ideas if you know you are only buying 4!

I love the idea of getting kids to think about something they want, something they need, something to wear, something to read rather than writing a long list of toys they want, and probably will only play with for 5 minutes. Buying quality gifts over piles and piles of presents has to be the answer!
