How to make a cardboard gingerbread house ornament
STEP 1: Prepare gingerbread house template
Scroll down to the bottom of the page to print out the gingerbread house template. Cut out the template.
Draw around the template on cardboard and cut out.
STEP 2: Glue the cardboard gingerbread house
You can use craft glue to glue your cardboard gingerbread house together, but I would suggest using a glue gun for this step as it can be a little fiddly and it will be harder to hold it together if you have to wait for the glue to dry.
Start with the gingerbread house roof. Thread string through the cardboard roof. This will be for hanging your gingerbread house ornament on the Christmas tree when it is complete.
STEP 3: Decorate cardboard gingerbread house
Now for the fun part! It's time to decorate your gingerbread house. Toddlers, preschoolers and older kids will all love getting creative to decorate a gingerbread house in their own unique way. You can use paint, markers, paint pens, glitter, cotton balls, stickers, really anything! The important thing is to have fun and enjoy the process of decorating your own gingerbread house.
To decorate your gingerbread house like the image below use an acrylic paint pens to draw a door, windows, tiles and extra details and then add a glittery heart sticker.
Once your cardboard gingerbread house is complete leave it to dry and then hang it on the Christmas tree proudly for all to see!
