I love it when sensory play is taste safe as it saves the worry about toddlers and preschoolers putting it in their mouths. Whilst I would never encourage a child to eat playdough, it is so nice knowing that if they do put it near their mouth it is totally safe.
If you enjoy making and playing with this peeps playdough you might also enjoy making our cake mix playdough that is also edible.
We also have Christmas grinch playdough and Christmas playdough mats.
Edible Christmas Peeps Playdough
Peeps Edible Playdough Ingredients:
- 6 Christmas Tree Peeps
- 6-8 Tbsp Flour
- 1 Tbsp Crisco
You will also need a microwave safe bowl and a spoon for mixing.
How to make edible Chistmas playdough:
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
Gathering your supplies up ahead of time makes it so much easier when making things with toddlers and preschoolers. Whilst you could make this edible playdough up in advance the kids will love helping to make their own Christmas playdough!
STEP 2: Add ingredients to bowl.
Place your Christmas tree peeps in a microwave safe bowl and then add 6 tablespoons of flour, and the Crisco. Toddlers and preschoolers will love helping with this step.
STEP 3: Microwave ingredients
Place the bowl full of ingredients in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and mix well.
STEP 4: Knead playdough
Once the flour is mixed in, remove it from the bowl and knead it with your hands. If it’s still a little sticky, then add a little flour until the stickiness is gone.
Add a few Christmas playdough cutters and have fun playing!
*Store in an airtight baggie for up to a week. It’ll get hard, but all you have to do is pop it back in the microwave for 10-12 seconds to soften.
Now all that is left to do is have fun playing with your Christmas playdough! Peep playdough is such a fun and easy edible playdough to both make and play with.
