How to make your ladybug craft
STEP 1: Gather the supplies for your craft
Before you begin, lay out all your supplies for your cupcake liner craft. This makes a world of difference when working with toddlers and preschoolers!
STEP 2: Prepare the ladybug body
To get started, flatten the cupcake liners and cut a heart shape. To make this easier, fold the liner in half and cut out a half heart.
Then, cut two circles and four thin strips from the black paper. Accordion fold the black strips and then glue them to the top of the circle to form the antenna.
Glue the googly eyes onto the black circles as shown below.
STEP 3: Decorate the ladybug wings
Align the black circles to the top of the heart cupcake liners and glue into place. Then glue the ladybugs to the green paper. Cut 2 thin long rectangle strips from the black paper and then glue them down the centre of the ladybug's body.
Cut a few small hearts from the black paper and glue onto the ladybug's wings. Alternatively, you can draw the hearts with a black marker instead.
STEP 4: Finalise craft
For extra fun, tear off a wide strip of green paper and then tear small rectangular pieces to form grass pieces. Glue randomly around the page to finish off the craft.
How fun is this ladybug cupcake liner craft?! Toddlers and preschoolers will have so much fun helping you put this ladybird craft together. It's adorable, fun, and easy. Plus you have a cute craft to turn into a Valentine or card.
