Cardboard Tube Monkey Craft for Preschoolers

Monkey Craft Supplies:

• Printable monkey template
• Cardboard tube
• Brown Paint
• Coloured pencils
• Glue
• Scissors

How to make your Cardboard Tube Monkey Craft:

STEP 1: Prepare your materials

Make sure to gather all of your supplies before starting! Print out our monkey template and the eyes page. You will find the printable monkey template at the bottom of the page. 

STEP 2: Create the monkey's body

Grab your brown paint and paint the cardboard tube, one paint layer will be enough. Let it dry.

STEP 3: Colour time

Once you've printed out the template, colour each area with coloured pencils. Feel free to get your kids' imagination to run the show! As well as coloured pencils you could use markers or even paint.

STEP 4: Cut out the pieces

Once you're happy with your coloured pieces, go ahead and cut out each piece. Younger toddlers and preschoolers may need help with this step. 

STEP 5: Put the monkey together

Now, check if the painted brown cardboard tube is dry. Once it is, glue each piece onto the tube carefully to get everything aligned. Use the image below as a guide. 

STEP 6: Add details

Add a few extra touches with a sharpie pen, like a cute little monkey snout. You just completed your cardboard tube monkey craft!
