Love bird craft supplies
- 2 cupcake liners - colours of choice
- Paper - brown, orange, white, and matching colours of your papers
- 2 googly eyes
- Black marker
- Glue stick
How to make your love bird craft
STEP 1: Prepare your craft
Before you get started, make the process easier by pulling out all the supplies you need. You wouldn't believe what a difference this makes when working with toddlers and preschoolers!
STEP 2: Create the tree
To get started, tear a wide strip from one of the edges of the brown paper. This will create a torn effect on one side while the other appears to have a clean straight cut.
Glue this piece to the edge of the white paper to make the trunk of the tree and then tear another wide strip for the branch and glue it horizontally to form the trunk.
STEP 3: Assemble the birds
Next, fold the cupcake liners in half and glue the two halves together as shown below.
Cut two triangles for the beaks from the orange paper and then glue them to the back of the cupcake liner towards the top.
Glue the cupcake liners to the paper with the tree so they are resting on the branch as shown below.
Then, cut two small hearts from the coloured papers that match the cupcake liners. Glue them to the bird's body to form wings.
STEP 4: Finalise the bird craft
Finish up your birds by gluing googly eyes, and optionally drawing lashes with the black sharpie on one of the birds. That is - your love bird craft is done!
This love bird cupcake liner craft is so much fun, we know you will have a blast! Toddlers and preschoolers will really enjoy making this bird craft just in time for Valentine's Day.
