Our paper chick craft is made from cardstock and a couple of other items which makes it an ideal activity for toddlers and preschoolers. It's mess-free, easy and the kids will enjoy putting it together.
This craft has a lot of room for personalising as there are lots of different body, feet, wing shapes etc and you can even personalise it by using a photograph as the chicks head.

Mix and Match Chick Craft Supplies:
- Chick template
- Markers
- Yellow and orange cardstock
- Glue stick
- Google eyes or child’s photo
- Scissors
- Optional - photograph of child's face
How to Make Your Own Mix and Match Chick Craft
STEP 1: Print out chick template
Before you can get started on this cute paper chick craft you will need to scroll down to the end of this tutorial to download and print the chick template. Take a look at all the different options for each part of the chick, decide which pieces you would like to use and cut them out.
If you are doing this chick craft with a group of children you could pre cut a selection of different options for them to choose from.

STEP 2: Trace and cut each piece
Now trace and cut the head, hair, wings and body pieces of your choice from the yellow cardstock. Trace and cut the feet and beak from orange cardstock.
Alternatively you can colour or paint the chick template instead of using coloured cardstock.

STEP 3: Make the chicks head or use a photo
Grab the head piece for your chick and pop on the google eyes. Glue on the beak and hair pieces. You can use a child’s photo for the head instead if you wish.
STEP 4: Glue everything together
Now it's time to put your chick craft together. Glue the head, wings and feet to the body.
STEP 5: Add finishing touches and you're done!
Finally glue on any accessory pieces that you would like to include like an Easter egg or Easter basket and you are finished!
