Check out our list of 20+ sensory bottle ideas
My older kids are obsessed with water beads and we love using them in sensory play, but they are dangerous for little ones that might put them near their mouth.
As a parents we spend a lot of time worrying about our kid's safety and when it comes to playtime safety issues can put us in high-alert mode and make us worry. That's why I love and recommend sensory bottles for babies and toddlers!
Not only are these sensory bottles great for babies and toddlers, these rainbow bottles can be a total game-changer if you have an upset little one. In our experience sensory bottles can be like a magic trick when it comes to an upset child, it calms them down like nothing else!

How to Make your Rainbow Water Bead Sensory Bottle
STEP 1: Prep your water beads
Get started by getting your water beads ready. This takes a little while but is fascinating for children to see. Put 1 teaspoon of water beads in 3 cups of water for about 5 to 6 hours. Check them after that time to see if they've enlarged.
STEP 2: Start layering the water beads
STEP 3: Keep the rainbow effect
To keep each colour from getting mixed up when your kid shakes the bottle, gently tap the sensory bottle often to make the water beads settle into even layers. Continue adding layers of coloured water beads until the bottle is full.
STEP 4: Add water
To finish off your rainbow sensory bottle add enough water to fill in all the cracks between the water beads. Close and seal the lid very tightly to avoid any spills!
STEP 5: Secure it with this extra step
