Firecracker 4th July Craft

As we head into July are you starting to think about 4th July celebrations? Make this awesome Firecracker 4th July Craft with all the fun and none of the danger. These are super fun and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who want to be part of the fun but are still too young for real firecrackers!

Kids of all ages can get involved in the making process and have loads of fun playing with their firecracker craft!

Firecracker 4th July Craft

Firecracker 4th July Craft Supplies:

• Coloured cardstock paper
• Coloured craft papers
• Golden or silver craft paper
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Drinking straw (optional)

4th July Firecracker Craft Directions:

STEP 1: Download and print our firecracker template.

To make this craft quick and easy to prepare scroll down and download our free firecracker template. After that, print it and cut out the shapes. Trace the shapes on the template onto coloured cardstock and cut them out.

STEP 2: Start putting it together.

Now it's time to put the cut out shapes together.  Attach the star to the centre of the triangle shape with a bit of glue. Then, add diagonal lines of glue across the rectangle-shaped paper.

STEP 3: Glue together

Place your paper strips on the glued parts and press them against the glue. Take a pair of scissors and carefully cut off the extra parts of the strips around the rectangle border.

Glue the triangle paper on one of the rectangle width-ends.

STEP 4: Add paper strips!

Cut some thin paper strips from orange, yellow, and golden or silver craft papers. Turn around your paper firecracker and attach the paper strips to the bottom of your firecracker. 

STEP 5: Final step!

Once you are done attaching the paper strips it's time to add the drinking straw! Alternatively you can also use a simple paper strip made out of cardstock. Glue it to the backside of the firecracker and...

You're done!

So easy! You just need to get your supplies prepared and you're on your way to create these stunning little firecrackers!
