Lemon Water Play Directions:
STEP 1: Prepare supplies.
Get your supplies ready! Go around your home and collect up all the supplies. If you don't have some of the supplies in the list you can switch them. The main thing is to have lemons, water and a selection of different things to mix and scoop the lemons with.
STEP 2: Add the water.
Start by pouring a few cups of water into the plastic container you chose, try not to overflow it but put in enough water to play! If doing this outdoor it would be fun to fill up a large container with water.
STEP 3: Slice the lemons.
Now, take all the lemons and slice. Vary the size of the slices, have some thick slices and some skinny slices.
STEP 4: Put some ice in the bin!
Now, grab the lemon slices and add them to the bin, let them float on top of the water.
STEP 6: Add some peel.
If you want to add a little extra, you could add some lemon peel into the water and sprinkle it around the bin!
Add some spoons, tongs, ladles, or anything else you want to the bin.
STEP 7: Playtime!
No it's time to invite your toddlers and preschoolers to play with this fun lemon and ice water play activity. Start by offering the cups so your kids can fill them up with the water, ice, lemons, and lemon peel.
Encourage them to use all their senses to touch, squeeze, smell, and even taste the lemon slices - Let them explore everything and enjoy finding new sensations.
My kids went nuts playing with the lemon seeds, there was something about the texture of them that they liked and they had fun collecting, counting and sorting them. Having said that they had a blast playing around with the whole tray.
I hope you enjoy this lemon water play activity with your little ones and have just as much fun as we did!
