Cute Ocean Paper Craft (template included)

In our home, we live by the motto "never enough paper crafts" so we're adding this cutie to our never-ending list of paper crafts.

Underwater sea creatures are always fun for little ones to make and this adorable ocean craft encourages them to use their imagination whilst thinking about the sea creatures living in our oceans. You'll only need a few simple supplies and you'll be on the way to dive into this colourful ocean craft.

How to Make your Own Ocean Craft

Ocean Craft Supplies:

• Coloured craft papers
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Craft glue
• Googly eyes
• Black sharpie or marker pen

Ocean Craft Instructions:

STEP 1: Create your underwater layers.

Start by picking three or even more different shades of blue coloured craft paper. Cut each of the blue papers into the same width but different heights and then using a pencil, start tracing wave shapes along the top of the paper.

Take your scissors and cut all the wavy edges you've just traced. You may wish to pre cut these for younger toddlers and preschoolers.

STEP 2: Glue on waves.

Now it's time to start putting your ocean craft together. Chose a blue background and then glue on your wavy paper, starting with the tallest first.

STEP 3: Cut out underwater plants.

Take other coloured crafts papers and invite your kids to help you to trace the underwater plant patterns onto them! Once that's done, cut all the traced shapes. Make up your own shapes or use the printable template available at the bottom of the page.

Again for younger children you may want to pre cut these shapes.

STEP 4: Now it's starting to take shape!

Take your cute ocean-themed plants and place them inside the wavy water layers and arranged them in your favourite way. Get creative!

STEP 5: Trace the fishies.

Now, it's time to add your under the sea creatures! Trace the fish, star fish and jelly fish patterns onto your favourite coloured craft papers and cut those shapes with scissors.

Add some google eyes and using a sharpie start tracing other features like little freckles or eyelashes to make the fish, jellyfish and starfish all that more adorable!

STEP 6: Arrange your sea creatures.

Place all the sea creatures onto your ocean scene. Once you're happy with your arrangement, it's time to use your glue and put everything together! Remember to let it dry before hanging it on the fridge!
