How to make a frog puppet craft
STEP 1: Gather supplies
Before you get started, gather up all the supplies you'll need using the list above. This makes the process of crafting with kids much easier! Be sure you've downloaded and printed the frog template.
STEP 2: Prepare frog template
Start by tracing the body patterns onto green papers, the belly pattern onto another green shade paper, and the small circles onto the pink paper. Cut out all the patterns you've traced.
STEP 3: Assemble frog puppet
Glue the pink circles on both sides of the cheek parts. Glue the eye cutouts on the eye parts of the head pattern.
Cut a slit along the sides of the body pattern as shown below.
Apply glue between the legs of the front pattern and insert the belly pattern from the bottom side. Push the belly all the way in and apply pressure to the glued areas.
Glue the front belly pattern to the middle of the back pattern.
Glue the head to the top side by slightly overlapping the front belly pattern.
STEP 4: Finalise frog puppet
Use a black marker to trace the mouth and nose. Glue your frog craft to a craft stick and now it's ready to play!
Preschoolers will love helping to make their own frog craft. It is a good idea to pre cut all the cut out pieces for young children to making the creating process go more smoothly.
Some parts of this craft are a little fiddly so toddlers may struggle to get involved in making this craft themselves, but they will LOVE playing with the frog puppets if you make them for them and they can always help a little by adding glue or colouring the frogs in.
