Outdoor Puffy Paint Instructions:
You can modify the amount of paint you're going to make by simply keeping the same 1:1 ratio of flour to water.
STEP 1: Mix water and flour.
Start by getting your supplies in order. Then, take your bowl and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and one cup of water. Stir this mixture well to avoid any clumps.
STEP 2: Add colour to your mixture!
Add 2-3 spoonfuls of your chosen colour of washable kids paint to the flour and water mixture and stir it well with a whisk to get everything mixed smoothly.
STEP 3: Prepare the bottles.
Take your puffy paint mixture and pour it into a clear plastic squirt bottle. I like using a funnel for this to avoid getting messy, but you could also pour it directly from the bowl to the bottle. Use a spatula to be sure ti get all the puffy paint out from the bowl and into the bottle.
Now it's just a matter of repeating these steps for each color of paint you want to create until you have 4 o 5 different bottles!
Now it's time for the fun part! Take your newly made homemade puffy paints outdoors and get creative! Squirt the outdoor puffy paint onto the sidewalk to create different designs and patterns.
STEP 4: Painting time!
Now it's time for the fun part! Take your newly made homemade puffy paints outdoors and get creative! Squirt the outdoor puffy paint onto the sidewalk to create different designs and patterns.
Before making this outdoor puffy paint please note that it should be used the same day you make it. The flour and water mixture can very slowly continue to expand and if the bottle is full with the lid on, the bottle could pressurise, causing the lid to pop off and the paint to overflow.
Be sure to wash off your designs when your have finished to avoid any staining. Don'f forget to take a photograph to record your amazing artwork first!
Making outdoor puffy paint is a creative and fun twist to regular paint, right? My kids were fascinated with their homemade paint and spent hours decorating our sidewalk! We hope you and your little ones enjoy this homemade outdoor puffy paint as much as we did!
