We are huge fans of colouring and craft activities at home. My little ones love colouring with different pencils and explore all sorts of fun and quirky techniques, so it's no wonder they loved these leaves!

Leaf Template Craft Ideas
There are lots of crafts that you can make using these printable leaf templates. Here are just a few ideas:
- Keep it simple - colour the leaf templates with your favourite colours.
- Make leaf bunting (directions below)
- Make a leaf wreath. Print the smaller leaf template out onto coloured paper. Cut and then stick the paper leaves around the edge of a paper plate to make a leaf wreath.
- Use paint! Paint the leaves using watercolours, you could try out this cool pointillism technique.
- No mess painting. Put the leaf printable into a ziplock bag, add paint and seal. Invite little ones to squeeze the paint around the bag to fill the leaf template. Take out to dry and cut around the leaf shape.
- Marble painting. Place the leaf template in a tray. Squirt paint on top of the template and then add a few marbles. Roll the marbles around the tray to make painty tracks. We did similar with our acorn art.

Leaf Bunting Craft (using leaf template)
Leaf Craft Supplies:
- Printable leaf template.
- Coloured pencils, markers and crayons.
- Black marker.
- Scissors
- String
Leaf Craft Instructions:
STEP 1: Download & Print Leaf Template.
The first thing to do is decide which of our leaf templates you would like to use. The small leaves work well for bunting, but you can choose between a blank leaf template or one that comes with the pre-designed zentangle patterns; it's up to you!
STEP 2: Add patterns to leaf template!
If you have printed the blank leaf template invite your little ones to work on this craft by letting them draw their own zentangle design. Get creative with your patterns!
STEP 3: Colour Leaf template.
Now it is time to add colour to the zentangle patterns on your leaves. Spread out a selection of coloured pencils, crayons or markers around and encourage your children to use their favourite colour combos! Watercolour paint would work well too.
STEP 4: Cut out leaf template.
Once the colouring process is done and the kids are happy with their designs, it's time for you to cut out each leaf.
STEP 4: Add string
Then, you simply need attach the leaves to a piece of string using tape and you're bunting is complete! Add as many leaves as you like. This would be fun to do as a whole class project or as part of a larger group so that each person would only need to design a couple of leaves.
Sooo cute! We hung our fall-themed leaf bunting on the front porch, and it looks adorable. My little ones are so happy to see their designs on display!
