If you're looking for a fun sensory bin idea, you are going to love this slime sensory bin! It's perfect for kids of all ages. We recently put one together that looked like a swamp and all the kids LOVED it! It's super simple to put together too (unlike many of our other slime recipes). Follow the step by step directions below to make your own swamp slime sensory bin.
Slime is a lot of fun to play with, but boy can it get messy! So I thought, why not put it in a sensory bin and add some snakes and bugs to create a swamp? And boy did the kids enjoy it! The creepy swamp with green slime was a big hit and I'm sure your kids will enjoy this too.
But what's even better is that all you need is some ooze baff powder and water to make the slime. Slime recipes can get a bit tricky doing it the traditional way and this makes it so EASY! I'm sure we will be returning to this slime sensory bin quite often.

Slime Sensory Bin
Slime sensory bin supplies:
- Small tray or bin
- Ooze baff powder
- Water (as needed)
- Plastic snake toys (or other plastic animals)
How to setup a slime sensory bin
STEP 1: Grab your supplies
Before you get started, grab all your supplies. The amount of water will depend on how much powder you use as well as your preference. You may want to set this up outside as it can get quite messy! (And slime is a pain to clean out of carpets!)
STEP 2: Setup slime sensory bin
To get started, add some ooze baff powder to your tray or bin and add some water; mix well with a stick (you can also use the end of a spoon). If there's lumps, you can either add more water or leave them to create a "swamp" look to it.
Throw in some plastic snakes and any other accessories that go with a swamp theme. You may also include rocks, bugs, sensory tools, or anything else you can think of!
STEP 3: Engage in sensory play
Now it's time to play! Invite your children over to start playing in the slime. The kids sure had fun exploring how stretchy the slime is and digging out the toys!
We hope you have as much fun as we did with this slime sensory bin. Kids of all ages will enjoy stretching and pulling the slime in their "swamp".
