How to make personalised candles with pictures of them
STEP 1: Gather up your supplies
Before you get started, gather up all the supplies you need. This will make the process easier as you aren't searching for things, but rather, can focus on making your fun candles with pictures on them.
STEP 2: Create drawing
First things first - invite your child over to create a drawing with markers on the white tissue paper. Or, if preferred, trace an already existing drawing your child has done.
STEP 3: Add drawing to your candle
Next, cut around the drawing on tissue paper, leaving some space around the edges.
Once you've done that, place the picture on the candle followed by wax paper over the top. Pull the wax paper tightly to hold it in place.
STEP 4: Apply heat to your drawing
Now to add your image to your candle! Turn your hairdryer on and hold it a couple inches away from the candle to apply heat. Continuously move it back and forth over the image for 2-3 minutes, until the drawing is stuck to the candle.
STEP 5: Finalise the candle with picture
Now all you need to do is remove the waxed paper and check that your picture has stuck to the candle. If any parts haven't stuck simply reapply the wax paper and heat again.
Once the picture has stuck to the candle your candle artwork is ready to gift or display around the house.
You could add to this keepsake gift idea by creating various drawings around the candle instead of just the front. You could also have your child write their name or another phrase to add to the candle. See what other ideas you can come up with! If you'd like to add more drawings to your candle, just repeat the steps above.
Note: you will want to be extra careful when burning these candles! Do not burn them past the art work.
