Pop Art Movement
We are huge fans of the Pop Art movement here at Messy Little Monster, as you probably know if you have seen our other crafts inspired by it!
The pop art movement became popular during the sixties. Thanks to artists like Andy Warhol and many others, the artworks created during this time in this particular style became almost cultural icons of that changing decade.
Bold and flat colours with contrasting backgrounds, collages, comic-inspired masterpieces created as a reflection of the popular consumerist culture of those times were the foundation of the Pop Art movement we know today.
Andy Warhol was a pioneer in this arena, creating multiple versions and variations of the same image thanks to new techniques such as silkscreen and lithography, which were not commonly used in the art world.
And with that little summary of what pop art is.... Let's get to the fun part!
