Outer Space Planet Craft for Kids

Take your kids on a fabulous adventure to the stars and beyond! Our Outer Space Planet Craft for Kids is the perfect extra touch to make reading sessions all that more exciting and fun! 

 

No matter what book you're reading to your little ones, themed bookmarks are always an adorable way to keep them more interested and help them develop their reading skills. That's why I love our planet-themed bookmarks, especially because these are made with very simple materials including popsicle sticks which are always a handy supply in the crafts-for-kids world!

Outer Space Planet Craft

Outer Space Planet Craft - List of Supplies:

• Coloured craft papers
• Popsicle sticks
• Glue
• Pencil
• Scissors

Outer Space Planet Craft Instructions:

STEP 1: Pick your coloured paper.

First of all, start by picking out the coloured paper needed for each planet using the image above a s a guide. We used yellow and orange for the sun and blue and green for Earth's planet and then a mixture of blue, yellow and brown for the other planets. 

STEP 2: Trace the planet template.

Trace the planet template onto your coloured paper. Trace the sun on the orange paper and then trace the base of planet Earth on the blue-coloured paper. Cut the traced-shapes neatly.

STEPS 3: Put the planets together.

Now it is time to start putting the pieces together. For the sun stick the two yellow circle patterns onto the orange bas.

For the earth take your green cutouts and glue them on the blue circle.

STEP 4: Attach the planet to popsicle sticks.

Attach the sun and the planet earth paper shapes onto the popsicle sticks.

STEP 5: Repeat for all other planets!

Take the template and continue these same steps for all the other planets! Make them realistic or use your imagination to create your own crazy planets! 

And ta-da! It's so simple and the result is just too adorable.
