NASA-lovers are going to be over the moon making this paper plate space craft. It's also a wonderful opportunity to teach children a little bit about how space exploration works and a few fun facts about outer space and rockets.

Paper Plate Space Craft for Kids
Paper Plate Space Craft Supplies:
- Paper Plate.
- Colorful Craft Paper.
- Scissors.
- Paper Glue.
- Colorful Marker Pens.

Paper Plate Space Craft Instructions:
How to make a paper rocket
STEP 1: Gather your supplies.
To start with this craft session, get your supplies ready to go. Download and print out our space craft template, from there use scissors to cut all the pieces for the rocket that you will need for this paper plate craft.
STEP 2: Glue the first pieces together.
Get your red triangular piece on one end of your rectangular piece and glue them together with a bit of regular glue.
STEP 3: Glue the red circle cutouts.
Then, take your red circle cut-out pieces and glue them to the rectangular piece. Align all the circles horizontally.
STEP 4: Attach the fins.
Take the fins of the rocket and glue them on the bottom.
STEP 5: Make the fire.
Attach the smaller cutout piece of the fire inside the bigger fire piece with a bit of glue.
STEP 6: Arrange and glue the fire.
Take the fire and glue it in between the rocket's fin, on the bottom of the rectangular cutout.
How to make a paper earth (make other planets in a similar way)
STEP 1: Cut out Earth pieces
Using scissors, cut all the pieces from the template to make your planet earth in coloured cardstock paper.
STEP 2: Attach them.
With a bit of glue, attach the smaller pieces of green paper inside the bigger blue circle and allow for everything to dry. While this dries, continue with the other pieces from the template following the same steps.
How to make a space background on a paper plate
Cut out your dark green cardstock paper, using the paper plate inside's size as a reference. Then, glue your circle to the inside of your paper plate.
How to put your paper plate space craft together
Make the rest of the planets, cut out the stars, and arrange them inside the paper plate. Use the image below as a guide, but don't feel you need to follow our example exactly, mix it up a little and make it your own.
