Who is Vincent Van Gogh?
Vincent Van Gogh was an artist born in the Netherlands in 1853.
Although since he was a child, he loved painting and drawing, he had many jobs before choosing to become a painter.
Unfortunately, Vincent suffered a lot in his personal life and his work was ignored during his lifetime. Only years after his death in 1890, his extraordinary paintings and revolutionary techniques would become famous, making him one of the most influential figures in art.

Painting with Spices - Instructions:
STEP 1 - Find colorful spices:
Go to your kitchen pantry and look for spices of various colors. We went with cumin, chili powder, curry powder, and Tumeric, but as long as the spices have vibrant colors, any spice will do!
STEP 2 - Mix the spices with water:
Take a bowl or section of a painting palette for each spice you have, and in each bowl or section, mix the spice with some water. Wait about 10 minutes before moving to the next step.
STEP 3 - Paint the sunflower template with spices:
Scroll down to the bottom of this post and grab our free printable template of Van Gogh Sunflowers!
Grab a paintbrush and invite your little ones to start painting the sunflower template using the dyed water from the spices!
STEP 4 - Cut out the spice sunflower painting
Once your child has finished their Van gogh flower painting, leave it to dry fully. Then, cut out the sunflowers from the template, including the vase.
STEP 5 - Mount your Van Gogh sunflower painting on yellow cardstock
To make this Van Gogh sunflower craft even more eye-catching, we decided to use two yellow shades of cardstock for the background, but any cardstock you have will work just as well.
