How to make your reindeer handprint
STEP ONE: Gather up all your supplies
Before you get started, gather up everything you need to make it easier. The attention span of toddlers is pretty short, so we want to make sure we aren't wasting time running around finding things.
Roll out your paper before you start.
STEP TWO: Paint reindeer handprints
Take your child's hand and paint the entirety of their palm with your brown paint. They may want to do this themselves as my little boy did here!
Next, press your toddlers hands on to the rolled out paper. Try to press their hands down firmly, keeping them still as you do so. We chose to make lots of reindeers so we covered our paper in handprints (some came out better than others).
Leave the handprints to dry.
STEP THREE: Decorate reindeer handprints
Next, invite your toddler to help you decorate the reindeer! Glue on the googly eyes, buttons, and gems and use the gold pen to add details.
You can turn your handprints into either a reindeer head or the full body reindeer - you decide!
STEP FOUR: Finalise your reindeer handprint craft
To finalise the craft, decide what you want to use your reindeer handprints for and cut out each handprint you made. You can use them for Christmas cards, Christmas tags, or laminate them and turn them into hanging ornaments.
You may also want to date the back if you'll be using it as a keepsake gift.
We hope you enjoy helping your toddler or older kids to make this fun reindeer handprint craft! It makes such a great keepsake gift or decoration for your home or to gift to loved ones. They are sure to love this handprint reindeer!
