- Elf on the shelf
- Cookie mix or cookie ingredients
- Baking kit (bowl, cookie cutters, spoon etc)
- Printable Let's Bake Cookies sign (available for free at the end of the directions)
- Paper straw (optional)
- Glue (optional)
Elf on the Shelf Baking Cookies
STEP 1: Print out the elf on the shelf cookie signs
Start by printing out some signs to prop up next to your elf on the shelf. We have two printables for you to choose from, the first has the words, 'Do you want to bake cookies?' printed on it and the second has the words, "Let's bake cookies". You can get these printables by clicking the pink button at the end of the page.
STEP 2: Make cookies signs
There are two ways you can make your signs. You can make a tent sign or a sign for your elf to hold.
How to make a tent sign to place next to your elf on the shelf
To make a tent sign, cut the sign out around the outer border, following the light grey border above the sign design. Fold the sign in half along the top of the design to create a tent.
How to make a sign for your elf on the shelf to hold
To make a sign for the elf to hold, cut out the sign around the design’s border. Flatten the end of a paper straw and glue the flat end to the back of the sign. Allow the glue to dry before placing it in the elf’s hands.
STEP 3: Set up your elf preparing to bake cookies
Now you have made your signs it is time to have a bit of fun setting up your elf ready to bake cookies. Place your elf next to a cookie mix and a few other baking items such as cookie cutters, a cooking bowl, a cooking spoon etc.
Your elf could sit in a bowl or be holding a spoon, the options are endless so have fun playing around. You could even add a little bit of flour on your work surface on your elf's face.
