How to make sunflower craft
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
Before you get started, make sure to get all your supplies ready to go. It makes it so much easier when everything is ready! You may want to add the paint to your paper plate or paint palette before getting started with your sunflower craft. (I think using a plate is easier with this type of craft.)
STEP 2: Prepare your toilet paper roll stamp
To get started, cut some small slits on the bottom 1/2-1" of the tube and press down to create a sunflower shapes toilet paper roll stamp. Make sure not to make your slits too far apart as you want each of the "petals" to be thin. (look at images below to use as a guide)
STEP 3: Paint your sunflowers
Once you have your sunflower stamp ready, it's time to get painting! Squeeze out some light yellow paint onto your plate and spread it out. Then, add a little dark yellow paint to add contrast and slightly mix, but not too much.
Press your stamp into yellow paint and then apply to your white paper to create sunflower petals around the page. If you're not quite happy with your result, add more paint and then stamp again.
STEP 4: Paint your sunflower seeds
Next, dip a q-tip or fingertips into brown paint to create sunflower seeds in the centre of each flower. Fill in the gaps with dark yellow paint.
STEP 5: Paint your sunflower leaves
After you have all your sunflowers painted, it's time to make some finishing touches! Use a paintbrush to paint green leaves and stems on your sunflowers.
That's it! You're all finished with this easy sunflower craft.
We hope you have lots of fun painting your sunflower craft using a toilet paper roll stamp! It's such a fun preschool sunflower craft - perfect for summer!
Kids will have so much fun learning how to make sunflower paintings. You can even write a fun message on it to gift to a grandparent for summer.
