How to make paper bag puppets
STEP 1: Lay out your supplies
Before we get started, take some time to lay out all your supplies. This makes things a lot easier when it's time to get crafting. If you haven't snagged the tiger template yet, scroll down below to get it downloaded. Go ahead and print and cut out the template. (The same template can also be used to make a paper bag lion craft)
STEP 2: Prepare the paper bag
Begin by cutting out rectangles from orange paper that are the size of your paper bag. Glue them to your paper bag on the side where the flap sticks out. Use your scissors to trim any excess off the edges. (see image below)
STEP 3: Add the tiger paws, stripes, and tail
Next, trace the tiger's paws onto yellow paper and cut them out. Glue them onto the bag and use a black marker to draw on the details.
Trace the triangles onto black paper and then cut them out. Glue onto the front of the paper bag in various sizes as shown below to create the tiger's stripes.
Cut a strip of orange paper for the tiger's tail and glue it onto the back of the paper bag. Then, cut out a piece of yellow paper and cut slits into it before gluing it to the end of the tail.
STEP 4: Create the tigers face
Next, it's time to create the tiger's face! Start by tracing the tiger's ear shapes and cutting them out on orange and pink paper. Glue the pink shapes onto the orange ones and then glue them both on the front of your paper bag.
After you've done that, trace the tiger's mouth onto yellow paper and glue it onto the front of the paper bag. Cut a triangle out of black paper and glue it onto the mouth, making sure to trim off the excess. Draw on the details with a black marker.
STEP 5: Finalise your tiger craft
To finish up your paper bag puppet, glue the tiger's eyes to the front of the bag. Your paper bag tiger craft is now complete and ready to play with!
