How to make a Paper Plate Spider Web Craft
STEP 1: Gather all your supplies
To get started with your paper plate spider web craft, make sure to gather up all your supplies. You can use any colour yarn you'd like. We chose to use orange, purple, and green. These colours are so fun for a spooky spider web craft!
STEP 2: Prepare the paper plate
Start preparing your plate by cutting out the center and punching holes around the inside of the ring, as shown below.
STEP 3: Create the spider web with yarn
Next, cut a piece of yarn that's approximately two feet long and then tape one end to the back of the plate. Invite your child to practice fine motor skills by weaving the yarn in and out of the holes to create a yarn spider web.
Once you've gone through each hole, trim the excess yarn and either tape or glue it to the back of the plate.
STEP 4: Create your spider and assemble
To finish off your paper plate spider web craft you will need to make a paper spider. Cut eight strips of black construction paper as well as a small circle. Glue them together to make a spider.
Alternatively, make a pipe cleaner spider craft to sit on your spider web.
Then, place your spider on the web. If you'd like, add a small bit of glue to the yarn and attach the spider!
We hope you enjoy this fun paper plate spider web craft! It's such a fun Halloween activity that toddlers and preschoolers as well as older kids will love. It's a great chance to practice fine motor skills while gearing up for Halloween!
