Nature Christmas Tree Craft

Inspiration hit us this past week, so we decided to make the most of it. We headed outside to collect some natural elements and make a few crafts. 

Needless to say, my kids had a wonderful time searching for their favorite natural treasures, but the fun truly started once we started making this stunning natural Christmas tree craft.

• Natural elements (leaves, twigs, berries, flowers)
• Christmas tree template
• Glue (optional)
• Camera

How to make a Christmas tree craft from nature

STEP 1: Hunt for nature treasures.

The first part of this craft is to head outside with the kids and explore the outdoors! Encourage your little ones to pick berries, leaves, twigs, and flowers that can work for this project.

This is a good opportunity to talk to children about the fact that some berries and plants are poisonous. You may need to be selective in the pieces of nature that you use or explain to children that they must wash their hands after touching certain pieces of nature. 

STEP 2: Get the Christmas tree template

To make this Christmas nature craft easier, scroll down and grab our Christmas tree template. Print it out onto white paper and gather all the rest of your supplies and natural elements to start making your Christmas tree craft.

STEP 3: Add nature to the Christmas tree

Lay the natural elements you've collected out onto the Christmas tree template and experiement with different designs!

Add plenty of glue to the Christmas tree shape and then place the pieces of nature on top or alternatively make a piece of temporary nature art and just lay the pieces of nature in place and take a photograph of your artwork. 

Encourage little ones to be creative and try out different ways to arrange the leaves, twigs, berries and flowers.
