Chinese Paper Lantern Craft - Directions
STEP 1: Get a paper lantern template
Before you can begin your Chinese paper lantern craft you will need to scroll down to grab a copy of the paper lantern template.
There are 6 different lantern templates to choose from. There is a design that says Chinese New Year with stars and lines to color as well as 5 other designs each with a different border to color. We have also included a blank design so you can design your own paper lantern.

STEP 2: Color Chinese paper lantern
Once you have chosen the Chinese paper lantern template that you would like to use you are ready to add some color to your lantern. Use markers to color in the patterns or borders or to draw your own design.
Alternatively, you may choose to leave your Chinese lantern white or print your Chinese lantern template onto colored paper.
STEP 3: Make Chinese paper lantern
Now it is time to make your Chinese paper lantern craft. Cut around the dotted lines on the template and then fold the lantern in half and cut along the dotted lines in the middle. Then unfold and glue the grey strip to the other side of the lantern. Complete your lantern by gluing the handle to the top of your lantern.
