How to make a seahorse paper craft
STEP 1: Grab your supplies
First things first - round up all the supplies you need for your craft project! Time is precious and we don't have time to be running around in the middle of a craft, right? If you haven't snagged your seahorse template, you can find that by scrolling down below.
STEP 2: Prepare the seahorse template
Now that you have all your supplies rounded up it is time to print off the template! You'll want to print this on coloured craft papers (or you can trace the template with a black sharpie on top of your chosen paper if you prefer).
To make the seahorse shown below print the detailed body on teal, the plain body on green, and the eyes on white. Alternatively, you can pick out your favorite colours! Alternatively, you can print the templates onto white and then colour or paint them in your chosen colours. Have fun with it!
STEP 3: Assemble paper seahorse
Now we're ready to start putting our seahorse together! Line up the teal piece into the middle of the green piece and glue it in place. Then, glue the fin and eyes into place as shown below.
Optionally, cut out some small white pieces of paper and glue them in place to add some texture or highlights (as shown below). Then, cut out and color in some bubbles.
STEP 4: Paint blue background
Next, paint a white piece of paper different shades of blue using watercolour paint. Lightly covering your paper with water before adding your watercolor paint creates a fun effect. This painted paper will serve as the ocean background for the seahorse craft. Set it aside and allow time to dry.
STEP 5: Finish up seahorse craft
After your ocean background has finished drying, glue your seahorse and bubbles into place. Your seahorse paper craft is now complete!
