What we love most about paper bag puppets is how much play you get out of them. Not only are paper bag crafts a ton of fun to do together, they make for great pretend play afterwards. This monkey craft is no different either - kids of all ages are sure to have lots of fun.

Paper Bag Monkey Craft
Monkey craft supplies:
- Monkey template (scroll down for link)
- Coloured craft papers - brown, pink, and white
- Paper bag
- Glue
- Scissors
- Black marker
How to make paper bag puppets
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
Before you get started, gather up all the supplies you need for your monkey craft. Make sure to scroll down below and get your monkey template too! Print it and cut it out so that it's in front of you.
STEP 2: Prepare your paper bag
Start preparing your paper bag by cutting large rectangles out of brown paper the same size as your paper bag. Glue them on the side of your bag where the flap sticks out and then trim any excess edges off.
STEP 3: Add the monkey's tail and stomach
Begin forming your monkey craft by tracing the tail onto brown paper and then cut it out. Glue it onto the back of your paper bag as shown in the image below.
Cut an oval shape from brown paper and glue to the middle of the bag to form the monkey's stomach.
STEP 4: Create the monkey face
Next, trace the mouth from the template onto brown paper and glue it near the top of the paper bag. Draw in the details with a black marker.
Trace the ear shapes onto brown and pink paper, then cut them out. Glue the pink shapes onto the brown ones and then glue to the top of the paper bag.
Finish up your monkey craft by cutting out and gluing the eyes into place as shown below. You're now finished with your paper bag monkey craft and ready to play!
