What is Pop Art?
Pop Art is an art movement that started in the 50s but became mainstream during the 60s. It began as a form to rebel against the more traditional and sometimes elitist art world.
From cans of soup, newspapers, or even household appliances, pop art draws inspiration from everyday objects. Its fundamental belief is that art can come from anywhere as long as the observer can relate to it.
Pop artists used silkscreen printing, lithography, collages, etching, and other techniques creating an entirely new visual concept.
Without a doubt, Andy Warhol was one of the pioneers of this movement, creating iconic pieces like Campbell's Soup Cans and Marilyn Diptych.
