How to make snowman chocolate bark

STEP ONE: Melt the white chocolate

Start making your snowman bark by pouring the white chocolate chips into a saucepan lightly sprayed with cooking spray.

Melt the chocolate chips over medium heat, making sure to stir frequently.

STEP TWO: Make a snowman shape

First, roll out a piece of wax paper and lay it on a baking tray. To make your chocolate snowman shape start at the bottom and spoon the melted chocolate until you have a large circle. Spoon more melted chocolate above it to make a slightly smaller circle. Then, spoon more melted chocolate into the top part of the snowman.

You should be left with a snowman shape like the one below.

STEP THREE: Decorate the snowman

Now for the fun part - decorating the white chocolate snowman! Invite your child to help decorate. Cut a Reese's cup in half and place one half towards the top of the chocolate snowman to resemble a hat.

Next, add two candy eyes below the Reese's cup to resemble the snowman's eyes.

Add a small piece of the other half of the Reese's cup below the eyes to resemble a nose. Then, add a few chocolate malt balls in a line to resemble the snowman's buttons.

Cooking tips for making your chocolate bark snowman

  • When you melt your chocolate chips, make sure to use low to medium heat and stir frequently. This will ensure that it doesn't burn.
  • Use the back of a spoon or a small baking spatula to help smooth out the snowman shape.
  • Consider placing your snowman on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and placing it in the fridge to chill for a few minutes. Depending on the toppings used, this can be easier to decorate with as they won't completely sink into the chocolate.
  • Try setting out different toppings for kids to decorate with as a fun activity. You can offer small plastic scoops, tongs, spatulas, etc to make it a fun experience.

I hope you enjoy making this fun melted chocolate snowman recipe! Chocolate bark candy is always so much fun to make with kids and this snowman chocolate bark is no exception. Toddlers, preschoolers, and older kids will have a lot of fun helping you decorate in the kitchen.
